How to Enter Manual Journal Entries Video
Note: In order to complete this lab, you will need to have your chart of accounts set up with specific account numbers that are not document controlled. Account numbers that are document controlled cannot be referenced in manually entered journal entries.
Create a journal entry to record securing a short-term loan from the bank. We will be referencing the following account numbers:
- 2400 – Short Term Loans
- 1010T – Bank Account 1 _ In-Transfer
As a reminder, the steps to follow are:
- Create the Journal Entry header record in Financials > Transactions > Journal Entries. Enter text in the description field to document this entry is for a "Short Term Bank Loan".
- Create the Journal Entry lines for each of the two account numbers that will be referenced in this transaction.
- Make note that the two lines must balance before completing the entry.
- Complete the Journal Entry using the DOCUMENT ACTION button.
